A Sour Smell
Robyn Hudson, a researcher at Mexico’s National Autonomous University in Mexico City and her team found that residents of the capital were less able to detect common odors like coffee and orange juice than those in a nearby town with low air pollution. I have found that here in rural Korea where they use open sewers that I have a hard time telling when it's time to take out the trash. My apartment doesn't necessarily smell like trash all the time or anything, but there's just a general pervasive smell here that is slightly "off" that you can't escape from.
That said, I would not trade this for the pollution in Seoul. Seoul gets the yellow dust from China and pollution from North Korea, and it can get scarily bad at times.
